Susan Dentzer Gives Prognosis for Children's Healthcare:

Audacious Hope Requires Strong Advocacy

Last week 300 people came out to hear Susan Dentzer, editor-in-chief of Health Affairs, and support CMC at the annual Speak Out for Kids Luncheon, held on November 14 at the Chase Park Plaza in St. Louis.  Ms. Dentzer, who headed the health unit at The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer for 10 years, shared her prognosis for children's healthcare in light of the recent election.  She provided insight into a new proposal from Democratic Senator Max Bauccus of Montana, released just last week; and foretold what future trends might influence the great health care debates.  The luncheon raised more than $52,000 for CMC's vital advocacy work, which Ms. Dentzer praised, cautioning that "audacious hope must be met with strong advocacy."  Click here to read more and see photos from Friday's event.
