The KIDS COUNT in Missouri 2009 Data Book is released!

On January 27th, Citizens for Missouri's Children released our 17th annual KIDS COUNT in Missouri Data Book at the State Capitol in Jefferson City. The KIDS COUNT in Missouri Data Book documents the status of children in all 114 Missouri counties and the City of St. Louis. This year's report confirms that Missouri's children are facing increasing challenges brought on by higher levels of poverty, a lack of affordable health care, and a lack of high-quality educational opportunities for all Missouri's children.
The KIDS COUNT in Missouri Data Book tracks 29 data indicators of child well-being, including ten primary outcome measures. In the 2009 report, indicators are grouped into five categories: Economic Security, Educational Success, Child Health and Mental Health, Child Protection and Safety, and Adolescent Success.
